Time for anyone else to learn a different language??! I’m not talking about the ones that make you learn a whole new one, I’m talking about the current one you use everyday, whether it be to yourself or anyone else. Don’t tell me your not in your own head because I know you are even if you don’t admit it.
How many of you get angry or annoyed with someone or something they did, or even something you did? Then for the next 10 min you build up some steam on that and the next thing you know your in a horrible mood because you’ve now made a mountain out of a mole hill? Most of the time we don’t realize we’re doing it and then boom, that morning, or afternoon, heck even the whole day just went down the drain (and it really shouldn’t have). Was it really that big of a deal? Or did it become a bigger deal in your head?
A year or so ago I had multiple conversations with people who were talking about those stupid voices inside your head and they said, “you know if you can change the way you think and change the way you talk to yourself and others, you can drastically change your life.” I thought to myself, “no way it is that easy.” Well, I was right and wrong. First off, its absolutely that easy. If you can stop telling yourself that something is horrible and maybe say, “well that sucked, but i guess it could have sucked a lot more.” Maybe even, “I can choose to say this totally sucked, or I can choose to look for the good in it instead.” Changing the way you think is really hard. You have to catch yourself constantly. When your around people who fuel that, its even harder.
Mindset in this way really does play a drastic part in your everyday life. Constantly thinking about how hard things are or how bad things are going or could go takes a ton of energy. Do you notice how tired you are on any given day if you have a bad day? Its ridiculous. On the other hand, do you notice how much energy you still have at the end of the day when you had a really good day? I’ve found the same thing when you can keep the language you talk to yourself as positive as possible. There will always be days and times it takes a lot to talk yourself out of that hole. If you can make the conscious effort to catch yourself when you start circling down and ask if you really have time and energy for that, you’d be socked at how over a period of time, your life will be more positive. You’ll attract ,more positive people naturally.
So is it really that easy to change your language? No, its not easy to change the way you think to yourself or talk to yourself or other. But yes, it really is that simple. If you change the way to think and talk to yourself and others, you can change your life.
